Right at Playa Avellana, Manta sits under the trees with a view of the ocean. Upscale food, relaxed atmosphere — a little pricier, but worth every colón.

Manta is a restaurant right at Playa Avellana, just south of Tamarindo. Tables under the trees, a view of the ocean, calm atmosphere. Pura vida in a slightly better version.
I had a burger with fries. The others at the table ordered various things — all looked excellent. The menu covers fish, seafood, ceviche and grilled dishes. Burger and two beers came to 17,220 CRC — about 34 dollars. On the pricier side for Costa Rica, but it fits the quality and the setting.
